It is indeed hard to trust the police and cooperate with them. Some time last week I was involved in an accident where some one who was trying to beat the robot hit my car. A policemam came and took our statements. Two days later on following up with the case with the police I was horrified to receive a report that i was the one who was on the wrong and had caused the accident. The policeman who was on the scene had deliberately ommitted taking an statements from eye witnesses. Apparently the police had been paid by the perpetrator in order to change the statement to the accident to be in his favour. Now i am being summoned to court and am being required to pay for the repair of the perpetrator's car. on seeking for advice on this matter I have been told that it may be a waste of my time and resources as it will be the policeman's word against mine, with the courts more than likely to believe the policeman.

How then are we supposed to trust the police and to work cooperatively with them?

Can some one please advise on how i can deal with this issue? I am damn tired of being abused by state institutions who are supposed to work for our benefit as citizens of Zimbabwe.
