I know how you feel. Embarrassed to even take out your passport at Johannesburg International or at the border. Ashamed of the mistakes and poor decisions made by people who are selfish and inconsiderate not only of the rest of the country but of their generations to follow. Look at our cricket team once the best, now a sorry story. Remember the days when everybody in Africa wanted to be Zimbabwean - from Malawians to Zambians and even South Africans. Remember when we could travel to the UK without a visa.......... I ask myself why we have to suffer humiliation and shame because we are being painted with the same brush as spineless politicians. Long live Nkosi sikelela and may it one day be restored along with the dignity of the Zimbabwean people - Ndebele or Shona.

IM A MTHWAKAZIAN

Being a Zimbabwean is just like a covered text book to me,the original cover being Mthwakazian or being Ndebele .Being Zimbabwean is somehow appreciated as it is currently,l was born there and i do hold the national identity which reflect that, but Im not proud of my national identity,lm not even proud f the national fleg, the currency and even the current national anthem (Kalibusiswe Ilizwe lethu leZimbabwe kusukela eZambezi kanye le Limpopo)I dont even like to sing or follow the words as i feel robbed by some historical and political changes that as a result formed this nation ZIMBABWE today.
I personally have always had a problem of my nationality, deep inside my i dont just feel comfortable being Zimbabwean, rather call me and the people who share the same or similler cultural or historic link uMthwakazi.
I however, will always try to keep my cultural and historic background and maybe one day Mthwakazi will unite us and fight for the return of our nation which was long distroyed by the wars of colonialism which distroyed not only Mthwakazi, but also other nations still suffer the same like me and others. There a lot of stateless people in the world whose nations remain covered like a text book.Mthwakazi is foreign in South Africa,Mthwakazi is foreign in Botswana and in Zimbabwe its second class citizen inside the nation this is similary the same with Kudisans in Iraq,in Turky they are second class and in Iraq they have no chance. This was as a result of the colonial boundaries that cut through other nations in between them. The protectorate of Mashonaland, the protectorate of Bechwanaland, and the Swaziland and Matebeleland was unified with Mashonaland to form a stronger and bigger collony called Rhodisia and block the Portugese in the far east into Matebeland
This is what i personally have to say about how i feel being Zimbabwean today, bit more like a stateless person,i do not enjoy the so called independence day as im still not independent as Mthwakazi and when others celebrate i have failed to join them in isolation and maginalisation.
